1. True Union vs Single Union — what’s the difference?
   True Union (Double Union) has union ends on both sides, so the valve can be removed without cutting the pipe—faster maintenance and replacement.
2. Can it be used for throttling?
   Ball valves are primarily for on/off. Light throttling is possible, but continuous throttling at small openings may accelerate seat wear.
3. EPDM or NBR — which O-ring should I choose?
   It depends on media, concentration, and temperature. Tell us your operating conditions and we’ll confirm compatibility.
4. PTFE or TPU seat seal — what’s the difference?
   PTFE is commonly chosen for chemical resistance and low friction; TPU is often selected for specific sealing/elasticity needs. We can recommend based on your media and service conditions.
5. What connection standards are available?
   Solvent cement sockets: ISO / BS / ASTM/ANSI. Threaded sockets: NPT / Rp.
6. What tests are performed before shipment?
   100% hydrostatic pressure test and pneumatic (air) leak test for sealing performance.
7. Do you support customization/OEM?
   Yes—options may include size, color, marking/labeling, and packaging. Share your requirements and we’ll confirm scope and lead time.

Installation & Operation (Step-by-Step)

1. Check before install
   • Confirm size, end type (socket or threaded), and standard (ISO/BS/ASTM/ANSI, NPT/Rp).
   • Make sure there is enough space to loosen the union nuts later.
2. Prepare the pipe
   • Cut pipe square, remove burrs, and clean the ends.
   • Keep dirt and sand out of the valve and pipe.
3. Install socket ends (solvent cement)
   • Use the correct primer/cement for the pipe and valve material.
   • Push the pipe fully into the socket, keep it straight, and hold it briefly.
   • Wait for full curing time before pressure test.
4. Install threaded ends (NPT/Rp)
   • Wrap PTFE tape or use thread sealant on the male thread.
   • Tighten to a firm fit, but do not over-tighten to avoid cracks.
5. Tighten union nuts
   • Tighten both sides evenly.
   • Do not use too much force; over-tightening can damage seals.
6. Operate the valve
   • Turn the handle 90° for open/close.
   • Use fully open or fully closed for normal service.
   • If you need throttling, use it only for light/short-time control.
7. Pressure test and final check
   • Slowly raise pressure and check: union area, stem area, and body for leaks.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting (Simple Guide)

1. Safety first
   • Stop the flow, release pressure, and drain the line before any work.
2. Remove the valve (true union)
   • Loosen both union nuts and take the valve out of the line.
3. Leak at the stem (near handle)
   • Check the stem O-rings. Replace if worn or damaged.
   • Choose the right O-ring material (EPDM or NBR) for your media and temperature.
4. Leak at the unions
   • Check sealing surfaces for dirt or damage. Clean and reinstall.
   • Replace union seals if needed. Tighten both sides evenly.
5. Valve does not shut off tightly
   • Check the seat seal and ball surface for wear or debris.
   • Clean the inside. Replace the seat seal if needed (PTFE or TPU option).
6. Handle is hard to turn
   • Check for dirt/scale and pipe stress (misalignment).
   • Do not use extra force; fix the cause first.
7. After service
   • Reinstall and do a pressure test again.
   • We perform 100% hydrostatic pressure test + air leak test before shipment; field re-test is still recommended after maintenance.
